In case you haven’t noticed, we are at a huge crossroads in our socio-political world. People and institutions are displaying dysfunctional and often self-destructive behaviors.
Everyone within these institutions runs on an outdated program of leadership that is based on hierarchical rules.
The game requires players to accumulate their power by climbing to the top. Accumulating power requires that we must take power from others. Once we get to the top, we must keep taking it from others to sustain ourselves.
Ever wonder why Burnout and Compassion Fatigue have become epidemic in all these institutions? The majority of people are giving their power to the few at the top.
This is not a sustainable leadership model and thus...we have dysfunction and malfunction within our institutional environments.
True leadership evolves from collaboration.A new model of leadership is needed that doesn’t drain everyone in the system. A self-sustaining leadership model is one in which everyone is trained to hold their own innate power. Leaders within this framework do not take power from others.
Leaders evolve and are those who demonstrate that they can hold their own power and hold space, be present and share their power among others, allowing others’ best selves to emerge.
As our best selves emerge, individuals will become increasingly empowered and naturally assume the leadership roles that improve their quality of life and well-being and best serve the group.
They will share power with others in groups and collectives, allowing organizations and institutions to then function from a stronger cooperative space that can sustain itself without depleting its members.
Sound idealistic or crazy? We don’t think so.
How do we begin training leaders to stop taking power and cultivate their own?
We believe it starts with Radical Self Care. As part of our ongoing Radical Self Care movement, we offer our Reiki Practitioner Development Series.
This series of Reiki practitioner classes and apprenticeships fosters the activation and growth of our innate caring perceptions.
Expanding our perceptions of care, empathy and compassion, in turn, fosters our innate leadership capacities.
How you say?
When we can hold our own vibration, our own energy, our own power, we become empowered. We have access to our highly functional self-sustaining information system. We no longer will get caught in dynamics of giving or losing power from others. We make choices based on our needs because we know that if our needs are met…we can share our power with others. We give not from a place of position on the hierarchy but from a place of abundance in our hearts. We want to share and everyone around us benefits.
The Reiki Practitioner Development Series starts with:
